Monitor Test Dongle

There's one thing that I wish was built into every computer monitor: a self test feature. You'd turn it on, and if a computer wasn't hooked up it should generate a test screen. Some of the newer monitors have it, however it's usually a small square that bounces around the screen.

What I really want is to have it generate a screen full of red, green, blue or white so I can see if there's anything wrong.

I thought this XGA monitor test dongle was pretty cool. Just plug it in and it'll generate VGA signals so you can tell if the monitor is working correctly.
