Does it have a fuse for the power supply? My unit doesn't work when the ac adapter is plugged in only when the ac adapter is not plugin and with batteries. I'm wondering if there's a fuse that blew.
Are you sure that you've got the right power supply? P-touches are almost always negative tip polarity, like 9V - tip. If memory serves, the PT-2600 is 9.5V but 9V should work.
If you've got a + polarity, it won't light up.
I don't think the power supplies have fuses in them.
also some p-touches use 7V power supplies and will shut themselves off immediately if you use a higher voltage power supply like 9V (even though some will actually have 7-9 V written on them). If you use a lower rated power supply like 7V on a 9V unit it should at least turn on.
